This summer has been a good one, a hard one but a good one. Many things happened many transformative events.
I was asked by a good friend to lead the main ritual for our event. I had many many good folk to help me, but I learned so much about who Iam and what I can achieve.
More later...

Walkurja

While surfing around doing some research
I found the above image of a Walkurja, or Valkyrie, and was stunned by it's power. That is how I have always seen them. Not Barbies in chain mail, but ferocious females , primal and awesome.
I finished reading an anthro paper that speculated on the Valkeries being the spirits of dead preistesses who continue serving the Gods in the other world. Intriguing idea, but who knows. So much was lost or rather purposefully destroyed or forgotten about our ancient faith. Especially anything having to do with the Goddesses. Maybe one day some archeologist will dig up a runestone that tells us more, fills in the gaps.

Hail the Wishmaidens!

Healing in the sunshine

So out into my garden I went.
I stripped down to a t-shirt and jeans, took off my boots, and did yoga barefoot outside. In the glorious sunshine. It was wonderful to feel Nerthus beneath my feet, still so cold, but Sunna so warmly shining on my bare skin. The song birds were pissed at my being there, but got over their fear. They flew in to their feeders and enjoyed the sunflower seeds. One of the resident Anna's hummingbirds flew in to watch me. She sat about three feet away from my nose, perched on the tip of a birch branch, licking her eyeballs, and then flew off to the feeder for more sugar water. She hung out the entire time I was there, so I guess she knows I won't eat her, Freya's little minion.
Earth energy is Vanic energy, so taking it up into my being was perfect, feeling the land beneath me. Listening to the birds chattering, the crows argueing with the jays over who knows what.
Alive, so alive!
I felt like wrestling my husband down into the mud and having my way with him.
Hail to glorious Sunna! Queen of Heaven!
